John Igo 1927-2016

Professor, Author, Poet, Dramatist

John and I met for the first time in the Spring of 2006 at a book signing in Helotes, Texas. For the next ten years, we enjoyed our meetings, literary discussions, and friendship.

With John's permission, I documented our meetings, and literary discussions with video, photos, and handwritten notes. In the end, he considered me his official biographer.

Please click on the video below and listen to John, in his dry humor, explain the origin of his name.

The photo of John Igo standing on stage with red curtains (above) was taken by me around 2008. I enlarged the photo, had it framed, and donated to the John Igo Library, where it hangs prominently on a wall near the checkout desk.

You may contact me using the contact page on this site if you have any questions about John Igo.

Sincerely,

Gary Demers, PhD.
